I have lemon tree, plus a lime tree and a large tree with inedible little oranges, all growing indoors. They're in pots a foot high & over a foot in diameter. None grow rapidly in winter. I water them thoroughly once a week. They get good light, with direct sun at least a couple hours a day. I feed them high phosphorous blend once every 6 weeks. Once the tree with little sour oranges went unwatered, turned brown and shed its leaves. We watered it & put it in the sun - it's fully recovered. They were yellowing, so we gave them some iron ... seem better after, perhaps because of? They spend the summer outside. - We're in NW CT, about the same conditions as Saugerties, which is less than an hour away. Hope this helps. Good luck!
