so i'm having trouble with this plant of mine. i think it's elephant ears, my friend says it's not. i don't know what it is.

it's very upset. it's very particular. doesn't like direct sun, doesn't like too much water, or too little water, well i don't even know what it wants. it kinda wants to live, but it doesn't want to tell me what it wants.

any clues?

IF you have elephant ears they are an Aroid therefore are shade plants.Its quite hopeless to try to help with the descriptions you gave ,you really have to get a photograph.In the meanwhile Google in Aroids which is a large group of many Genus
Try Googleing Alocasia which has the elephant ears in that Genus.
