Actually, I think it is a type of citrus tree. I've seen a couple similar here where I live. The leaves and blossom look about right. Daft question - does it smell like an orange tree? You know, the leaves, the blossom and the fruit all have a distinctive smell. I'd suggest taking one of the fruits off and cutting it open. If it is orange, they're quite nice and you can even eat the skin because it's so thin!
