Hi all I have small shrub variegated private (I think - pic below) which has a white larvae-like infestation. Although some leaves contain small numbers of the larvae, top and underneath, the main infestation is on the stems which are completely covered. The infestation only affects this one variety, of which I have 2 in the garden about 20 feet apart - both are infested. Because I'm not sure of the plant name or variety (it's been in this garden for many years), I have included a pic of it in the hope that one of you experts can identify it. Sorry about the slightly out of focus stem shot. The shrub: The stems:

Oh, oh my. That looks like my problem, I think it's the same thing! I just made a topic here about it. Are the stems turning yellow underneath the bug things? I sure hope the ones on my old maid's tongue plant don't spread! My mom just scraped them off, but this plant is little and in a pot, and the bugs haven't done much. Mine don't move.
Grow plants, grow! No, wait, stop! You're breaking the roof!

What you have is an Euonymus. It looks to be infested by Whitefly, which is very hard to get rid of. Never used one, but there is a something called a yellow, sticky trap you place under it. Shake the plant to drop whitefly. You can use an insecticidal soap, pyrethrin to kill. It will take some persistence, but this is a beautiful shrub and worth saving. Good luck!
