I read somewhere that unless told otherwise you should put the seeds in hot water for 24 hours before seeding them. Then when you seed them you should close it with a plastic so no air will come in and come out and put it somewhere that has indirect sunlight, when you see the first leaves come out then you take out the plastic. Make sure the soil is always moist.
Does it apply to most of the plans that don't need any specific 'seeding instructions'?. Like for instance... Jack-In-The-Pulpit needs to be in the fridge (the seeds) in the soil for 2 months before planting (needs to go through a winter cycle). So unless it has specifications like that, should all seeds be put into water for 24 hours and then planted?
