I have a purple sage plant, approx 2 yrs old, full folage and 3' across. The bottom branches are dying off and leaves have withered and dried. Could this be caused by over watering or heavy soil? Soil tends to be heavy/clay-ish and acidic, plant gets morning/early afternoon sun, but is semi shaded by pine trees.
