I would like to know what kind of plant this is so I can properly care for it.
I was told by the place I purchased it that it was a goldfish plant. It has yet to sprout a flower.

I can't say for sure, but after looking it up online I am pretty sure I have found what your plant is. This picture looks like the plant in your picture, without the flowers. I think it's a flying goldfish plant, or more speficly, a Columnea crassifolia. I hope this helps.
