My wife won it at her work but she is afraid to over water or under water it because there was no identification on the plant as to which palm it is.

Well I have a palm of my own and as a rule of thumb I try to water it only once a week. I am pretty sure overwatering would be worse for it than underwatering. Overwatering will probably rot the roots. Anyways, before I water my palm I stick my finger under the soil a little and see how dry it is. If the top of the soil is moist I would say to wait a little before watering.
Also, palms like humidity. Hope I can be of some help.
