I had some ideas and I would like to hear others ideas also, tips anything that will help us with the watering of our plants while on vacations. Some of us we don't have and/or trust to give anyone the keys of our house, so we must prepare our watering setups for our plants.

First of all I thought of a cheap solution with an IV tubing-->
They are very cheap, (check the website also) and can be bought from any medical supplier.

* a large water bottle or a bucket or any other similar container

Another similar variation of the above would be to put one or more water bottles upside down into the dirt.

You may already know this and if so disregard my suggestion but you will have to make sure that the bottom of your water bottle is placed somewhere above your plant to make sure that gravity will actually draw the water from the bottom to the plant. It is a nice idea though because you can regulate the flow very easily. How much do those IV drips cost, by the way? If they are relatively inexpensive this would seem like the best solution to your problem.
