I received a wandering jew plant as a gift this past year. It came in a hanging pot and is hung by a long window that gets light from the south.
It's bright light but it isn't direct sun. It is in my kitchen. It has become straggly looking with some of the leaves drying up and falling off. There are now some strands that have no leaves toward the top of the pot but very nice looking leaves further down the strand hanging down. I tried some pruning of the length and check the moisture level. Does anyone recognize what is wrong? kjns64

After time your wandering jew wanders so far that its time for propagation. reset the process by taking cuttings from lower branches root them all and repot the rooted cuttings in the old hanging basket. i find with age wandering jews get straggly and old.

Cutting it back will help to generate new growth at the top and give you new cuttings to root. I find that giving the plant a monthly trim around the bottom length of the plant helps to keep fuller and produces new growth at the top. Keep the plant misted as these plants like it humid.
Good luck!
