Hello, I am Bulucanagria and I do love growing things. I'm not over the top about my plants as I have several other interests but I often find myself doing plant rescue. People are throwing out plants or giving up on them because they are looking peaked and I step in and take the plants home. I recently had to move into a much smaller place and ended up giving away about a dozen plants. I don't mind doing so as I have little money invested in them and I love sharing the green with like minded people. I once rescued an aloe that someone was throwing away because it was growing out of control. I separated it and repotted 7 plants! These went with my roommate to her herb class and were distributed among the other students. Afterward she told me that I should have gone and done it myself and I would have had a fistful of phone numbers! Oh, well. I am certainly no master gardener but I try to find out what I can about each plant I grow. Sometimes it's difficult as I can't precisely identify each. I'll admit that plant identification is the impetus for my joining but I can see that there are plenty of other resources here for me to take advantage of and I intend to do so. After browsing for a while, this seems to be a well run forum and I look forward to being part of it. Be well Bulucanagria

Hi! I read your quote, Bulucanagria; my name is Andre, I have a, "Green thumb" as some say here in America.... My Mums (mom) always kept plants, so I begain to seek my own when I got old enough to understand how to keep one from dying too fast. Lol. There's a peace with plants that I get in return, even when I repot. I'm still learning, no pro! My joy is to see them grow, but I can't identify one of my plants, & the other is a Lotus Bamboo, but pictures I've seen of it doesn't inform you on how tall it grows... Hopefully I'll find it on here, if not I'll keep searching. I gotta find out how to put a photo of my plants on here in order to get help, well, just wanted to return my agreement with what you stated. Take care. Andre

It may sound corney to some, but forget what they think, you know your stuff Venus! U know I have this Lotus Bamboo, I had got it in mid 04'. It was 6.5 inches when I got it, a single plant. Now it's 4.5 Ft, with 3 new stems (reaching 21 inches each). I had repotted it in a bigger pot, & it beginning to turn yellow on the lower-mid shaft area. Do U think that it lacks water? Andre Lewis
