I have a houseplant that was my grandmothers who passed away and I would like to know what it is and also I put it in a bigger pot hoping it would spread but so far it hasn't so I would like to know how I can get it to multiply. It has 3 triangular shaped leaves on it and they are green on the top and reddish on the bottom. At night the leaves fold up and open again in the morning. When it was on my grandmothers window sill I think I remember it getting small white flowers on it but it hasn't flowered in a while probably due to lack of water. I don't think you can kill it as I forget to water it for very long periods and it stays green and always looks pretty good. Makes an excellent houseplant for someone like me who doesn't water very often! LOL Any help would sure be appreciated! Thanks!

I have one of these too. Mine is really picky about drainage and humidity. I leave my spray bottle beside it. I was thinking changing the pot it is in this year and using a humidity tray for it.

So it is a false shamrock then? So to make it spread I have to take it apart????? Can someone elaborate on this a little? Thanks!

they are actually bulbs... Oxalis regnellii is easily propagated by bulb divisions at the end of the dormant season. Plant these bulbs just below the soil level and water them well. When they loose their leaves, allow them to rest for about a month and stop watering and fertilization.
Does that help?
