Does anyone know about a tree type plant that has lots of spikes on the trunk and branches? I've seen it at an oriental store but never bothered to find out any more about it. Today my son gave me one that has lost all of its leaves due to no care...but it appears to still have some life in it. I potted it in new soil, watered with very mild fertilizer and have put it in a nice sunny location...my best spot in the house. Is there anyone that would venture a guess at the name of the plant so I can try to find out what it likes? Appreciate any guesses.

Thanks

from what your description sounds like..it could be a euphorbia splendens..but you might get a confirmed id if you post a picture.

Yes...I believe this is the plant...I see it is VERY poisonous...not sure that I want to keep it but will try to bring it back for someone else to house!

Thanks so much.

well..it's not that poisonous ...Though you would want to keep your pets away from it...i've had this plant in my house for years now. It develops really beautiful flowers.. Here are a couple of pics of my plant.
