I just brought a anthurium. I picked it up from Lowe's distressed rack of plants. It actually looks pretty good - but, I would like to get the leaves shiny. Does anyone have any suggestions for shining plant leaves??? Also, any suggestions on how to encourage the flowering.
Thank you.

Make sure the roots aren't overcrowding the pot, if you see any poking out the soil cover them with some sphagnum moss to keep to soil mixture somewhat moist like there natural habitat (jungle floor and under a thicket of tree canopy) a well drained soil mix is precisely good for anthuriums such as, regular quality potting soil,Lots of perlite and bark chips. Spray the plant daily with a mister to keep the plants appearance dust free and more glossy, with age the leaves lose their luster but with the old comes the new glossy leaves and glossy flowers! make sure to fertilize monthly during the growth season(summer). DONT use leaf shine it blocks the plants pores for breathing.

Thank you very much. I will have to do some repotting, I don't think the soil is much good. So don't use leaf shine. I've heard of some people using mayonise. What do you think on that?
Thanks again.
