Thought I would raise a question today in the forum :)
I just planted two trees in my backyard for Earth day and was wondering how often you plant trees? It seems like many people are planting trees today as well in celebration of "Arbor day," (the date seems to vary from place to place).
So, when was the last time you planted a tree? ;-)

Last year i had a pleasant afternoon planting my japanese maple, its survived the winter and is currently pushing out new growth, i cant wait for the fall color. Colorado blue spruce is another, and a magnolia for a friend of mine.

I planted two 10ft tall Shumard oaks in my front yard after get the old popcorn trees (Chiness tallow)"boo-hiss!" cut down chopped ground down and hauled off. I have A LOT of mulch now.
Popcorn trees are the spawn of Satan!
I also planted some red maples and a southern magnolia on the side yard and back yard.
I'm trying to use native species when possible.
