My mother works at a office and the plant in the area cracked off. i dont have the bottom part of the plant, only a huge branch with 8 to 10 huge leaves, how will i make this "cutting" live?

I don't have much experience with that type of thing, but my best guess would be perhaps using a rooting hormone to get roots or perhaps putting it in water to keep it alive.

I would shoot for the root hormone. If i remember correctly it doesn't take that long to take affect. When I used it on some pine clippings for bonsai it only took a week or 2.
