I have two yucca plants in my front yard and I want to understand what the "babies" are so I can move them and have more. Does anyone understand this process? The how, when, where, and what to look for? Please help, thanks, TS

We are in a cold climate, so our yuccas live inside. When the small green shoots appear, we cut them out of the woody trunk carefully with a sharp knife, dip them in rooting mix and plant them in potting soil (just normal potting soil). So far, our babies have survived, although they grow slowly. That is, they are now around five inches tall (from 1 inch at re-potting) and they don't have a 'trunk'. They've been in their new pots for around a year. Hope this helps.

Do you know how to revive ailing yuccas? I was warned not to overwater my yuccas but I think I may be underwatering them as quite a few have developed brown or yellow leaves and are shrivelling up. Watering doesn't seem to help though. Any ideas?
