We have a plant we call a sleeper plant. We would like to identify it so we can get another one. The leaves are green turning to purple and it occasionly blooms small white flowers from the middle of the leaves on a strand. During the day the leaves are open and the ends are pointing upward creating a 4 sided bowl. At night the leaves fold downward and they all look like a pyramid. The stalks are very thin and delicate. Is it possible this is in the orchid family? This plant was a gift and has done well for a couple of years now. I know it's difficult to describe without a picture but I thought I'd give it a shot.

Thanks.

My guess is that you have a type of oxalis.I don't think that it is any of those on this site, but you could do a google search of oxalis using the images option to see if you can match what you have. Derek
