we have a majesty plam tree about 6-7ft tall, the branches keep turning brown and dying, when we purchased we repotted it in a different pot- could this be the problem? should this plant be fed? we have been giving it miracle gro but nothing seems to change. how often should it be watered? any info you have would be appreciated.

thank you!

Hi Jessica,

Majesty Palms take lots of water. You are probably not giving it enough and that is why the leafs are turning brown and dying. Yes you can feed it. What I use is an indoor/outdoor ferterlizer such as ozmocote. Its great ferterlier. Don't over do or salt will kill your plant.

I have a majesty palm also. It is being kept inside right now till I can get into my new home, then I had planned on putting it outside with a saga palm on each side of it in a rock garden. Will it live that way, tell me how I should care for it outside...and if it can tolerate cold winters. We sometimes have snow here but not always.
Thanks
Marie
