If this is the lucky bamboo. It should be in water. They are to be grown in water not soil. I had one in water that turned yellow & I ask the garden store where I purchased it, what happened? She said to be sure to rinse & remove dead roots and change the water at least every 2 weeks. Bacteria forms in the water causing the bamboo to die. Hope this helps. Carol

the roots on my bambo plants are tangled and long and a rust color, the tips of the leaves are also turning brown. Is this because they are in a tall vase that gets no light, they are in my bath room sitting by the window ,how deep should the roots the be under the rocks and in the water?

Mine is doing the same thing although it has been kept in the light. Did yours make it? If so what did you do?
