Hi, I have a 3 feet long Money Plant at my living room. I heard that money plant is not to be grown in the house. Can be grown outside the house. Is it right? What are the consequences if ti continues to grow at house. I have two children, one 4 years and second one 1 years old.

My second question is that if grow indoor plants at house, will it give more oxygen in the rooms? Please advise.

Thank you in advance for your answer.
Best regards,

Hi,

I'm not too familar with the money plant as you call it. There are loads of plants that will help clean the air in the house and give you more oxygen.

As for the money plant not to be grown in the house....it may be because it needs or requires more light and humidity than the inside of a house can provide. I don't think it will "take over" if that is what you are concerned about.

If you could send me a different name to go by I could look it up for you to see if there is more information to be had.

Hi,
Thank you so much for your reply.

I have found the following specific details of the plant along with a photo at the following URL:

EPIPREMNUM Common Name: Pothos, Devils Ivy, Hunter's Robe, Money Plant. Origin: Java.

What I heard is that growing moneyplant in the house is not good for health. Could you please advise?

Also, I would like to know that during the night, under tube light whether it will help clean the air in the house and give us more oxygen. If we required to sleep in the room where plant is located how is it going to affect that person.

Looking forward to hear your valuable reply.
With best regards,
Dileepkumar.

The Pothos will not hurt anyone in the house. I have had one for many years. All plants help clean the air that we breathe. They act as a filter. I am very sure that this plant will not harm anyone.

It will have no effect. It will help the quality of the air to some small extent. Plants are very good for the air. This is a safe plant, it will not hurt anyone in your household.
