I need to know if I can plant one of the new growths into a pot without pre-rooting. I tried the water method to try gaining roots and it fai;ed. I would appreciate any information on how I can expand my collection of this magnificent plant.

Probably not, you can take a piece of stalk and plant that side ways to see if a new sprot will come up.
