I have a large very healthy Christmas Cactus that I feed Miracle Grow to every two months. I keep the soil evenly moist and it gets filtered sunlight. It is just now starting to bud for the beautiful red blossoms it displays yearly. How can I encourage the blooming of the flowers? Should I keep it in the house all year like I have for the past four years? Will putting it outside at night promote faster blossoms?
Thank you for your time.

No, don't put it outside - in fact don't change anything since you have a good thing going! If it ain't broke ... Derek

I know all of my blooming plants do best when it is cooler at night to promote faster and healthier blooms. I would not reccomend outside because it will be subject to pests and possibly go into shock while blooming. ( Of course here in Alaska you would never want to put a potted plant outside this time of year. ) A fan with a slight comfortable cool breeze oughtta do it. Hope that helps
