Cool temps, 40-60 degrees, (warm room can deter buds) and shorter natural daylight hours in the fall will help set blooms. Use reg diluted fertilizer at half strength during the spring and summer months, let dry between waterings, then stop feeding when you see the little buds.
In the warmer months, you can put your Christmas cactus outside in bright or partial shade all summer, then around Oct or so, you should see some buds.
