Okay, I just found a plant down the basement of where I work. Apparently someone threw it out and I have noo clue what this plant is. A man down there told me that the plant can be literally kept in a closet and will come out beautifully. It sort of looks between the cross of rhubarb and celery. Its pretty much the same colour as celery and has some red inside the thick open stock. there is only a couple of stocks and they seemed to have been cut off. There is also a couple of thin stocks. I know this isn't much help but if anyone knows what this might be let me know, if not, I will take a pic of it tonite.
Thanks.

Sonya, look at some pictures of aglaonema to see if the leaf shape is right. They come in many different leaf marking and stalk colors including pink, so it may be what you have. In any case, get the plant into more light and start a proper watering pattern. Do not under any circumstances repot and add that stress, at least until the plant seems a bit more healthy. Also ABSOLUTELY NO FERTILIZER - that would probably finish it off. Click on the "low light' option in out 'Plants by type' to egt a list of things that don't take much light. Sansevieria, Spathiphyllum, z z and aspidistra would be four names to look for. Go to the pictures to see what these are. Derek
