I have a tropical-looking plant that is need of some serious care. I purchased it on the cheap at Home Depot and it's been losing leaves ever since...and quickly. It seems that the leaves are dessicating regardless of how much water/sun/spray moisture I give it.
Here's a description of the plant:
Tall, thin trunk that resemebles a palm tree, but stays herbacious (does not turn woody). Long, frondy leaves that are dark green in the middle and purple around the edges.
Any guesses as to what I can do to help??
Thanks! Sarah

It may be a dracaena or a cordyline. All you can do is to get the watering right - make sure that you soak all of the root ball, but then wait to water again until the top inch or so is dry. No misting, no anything except that, and of course, absolutely no fertilizer. And please, if it dies, let its death not be in vain. Learn not to buy from Home depot, especially the stuff that they have let get into such bad shape that they reduce the price. Derek
