I've had Swedish Ivy as a houseplant for years and have to disagree w/ Nathan. Swedish Ivy certainly does like sun. Maybe he was speaking as an outdoor gardener...it doesn't like too much baking direct outdoor light, but for indoors should be kept in 1 of your brightest windows. It does fine outdoors (although it won't live through a winter unless you're in Fla. or 1 of THOSE places) in areas ranging from shade, partial shade to some direct light (area that doesn't recieve direct light all day, just part of the day). I move mine outdoors (in a hanging basket) as soon as overnight temp. is not in danger of going below 50 f. It definitely benefits from the brighter light...
Also, Swedish Ivy is sensitive to over-watering- gets root rot (I am speaking of container plants, perhaps he wasn't). I let mine dry out to at least a 1/2 inch below soil surface and it does quite well.
