My bamboo plant is growing quite well it is in a vase with water and stones in the container .My husband now wants to take it in the vase and put it on our front porch .I wish to know if this is a good idea . It wont get direct sunlight but.I dont know if it the best of ideas .I wish to know would it be okay.to put it outside(in the vase).

Penny, this plant is a modified form of a very tough dracaena that would grow outside all summer for you with no difficulty. The real problem is that sooner or later it will stop looking like the 'bamboo' (which was the name used to sell it) and start to get larger. Still very pretty but you will be looking at a different plant. It will keep its bamboo look longer if it is growing much more slowly inside the house. Derek
