I have a house plant that I don't know what kind it is. It grows like a spider plant but the leaves are much wider. When it blooms they look like a minature iris bloom. They have white pedals a round a purple center with a bit of brown also has white specks in the brown. They have a aroma. The blooms only last one day. My plant does well in the sun, its set in by bay window. A friend gave it to me but didn't know what it is called. Can you help me find out what kind of plant this is.
Thanks Laura

Sounds like what's Scientifically called, (Neomarica longifolia) Commonly called, a walking iris, or Apostle plant.

Susan, Thank you, yes that looks like my flower except my outer petals are white where the picture I saw was purple on the name you gave me. I really enjoy this plant. Laura
