WHAT CAUSES TOMATOES TO GET BLACK SPOTS ON THEM IS IT MAYBE TOO MUCH WATERING, I HEAR IT IS BLIGHT IS THAT TRUE?

The black spots are known as blossom end rot. This is caused by a calcium deficiency.You should consider having a complete soil test done. In the mean time you could water the soil with milk- Use 1 quart of milk in a gallon of water and water the soil plus sprinkle the plants. Milk has an available form of calcium in it that will really help you overcome the problem.
