The leaves are turning purple. What should I do, or is this normal? How often should I water it? It is in bloom right now.

There are both Xmas cacti and easter cacti- the easters bloom in apr/may and the xmas variety blooms in dec/jan. was told that they didn't always bloom but mine does profusley- pretty pink, spear-shaped flowers. easy to grow- started mine from just a few segments. mist frequently. the new segments are usually kind of pale/purplish so as long as its growing- don't worry. they need a "resting" period of a couple of months after blooming- keep cool and water infrequently. later gator.

Oh- and a David? Right now while it's growing water regularly as you would any other housplant and "mist" if you can (they really like that!) just curtail the watering AFTER they flower.
