I have had my peace lilly for about a year now. I have transplanted it once. Now I am noticing a light colored layer of something (mold??) on the soil. The plant seems ok although it has not flowered in a while. What is this stuff on the soil and how do I get rid of it or do I get rid of it? Please help!!

Hard to tell without seeing it, but if you have fertilized very much, it may be the excess salts coming to the top of the soil. Is it crusty, and is it creeping onto the pot itself? That would be the salts. A heavy overwtaering will get rid of most of them, and then you can go back to your proper routine. Derek
