I just purchased to bamboo stalks. They are settled in water and seem to need no dirt. Can you tell me any other care instructions that I might need.
Thank you

Technically these are Draceana reflexa cuttings that have been trained with wire to curve. Lots of florists sell them in a clear vases with decorative gravel half way up the vase. The gravel helps anchor the plants down and looks nice depending on the color. I have seen these cuttings last for a couple of years in just water by adding a pinch of any house plant food every month or two. Ideally these cuttings should get potted into some type of container with indoor potting soil. Within the plant trade these are called "lucky bamboo" because someone got bored down in Homestead Florida and started this fad. Now its as big as the pet rock, but that lucky guy or gal is laughing all the way to the bank.Katherine wrote: > > I just purchased to bamboo stalks. you can also put fertilizer 20-20-20, I've had bamboos for years...even if it's winter or summer I still keep them in fertilizer.
