I have a pointcetta from last Xmas that has grown beautifully, but it is green. How do I make it turn red again?

I have found that if you do the following I have had much positive results- Note the timing is important otherwise( this has happened to me) your pointsetta will become an Easter bloomer! At the last week of May for one full month allow the plant to receive 12hrs. of light. Unfortunatly, if living here in the northern hemisphere that is the approach of the summer solace therefore the following must be done: Assuming the plant is in a high light exposure assuming that light arrives around 6am exactly 12 hrs. later you must remove the plant and place it in a location where it will receive no light. Preferrably a closet(it won't work by placing it away from the window, even if it receives light from a window across the room you will not achieve the desired results! This must be done for one full month, faithfully!! After the one month time frame return the plant to its original location and continue to care for it as normal. Depending on its age(yrs. it has lost its original flowers) it may take you two yrs. to achieve the results. If you do this next May(last week) until last week of June you may get the results that following Christmas. Or it may take an additional year. Note when the plant "flowers" you can adjust the time frame of the one month a little earlier if you discover the flowering is occuring a little to early or to late! I have found that each plant has what I call its own personality and the blooms vary depending on the plant, so you may have to play around so to speak! Now the blooms have yet to achieve the beauty and fullness of the originals but I am still working on that! Good Luck, Tim
