hello i have a spider plant that i have had for a while. right now at this time it only has one stem hanging down. i was wondering how the plant grows lots of stems. i am not a plant person at all so don't know what to call the stem hanging...lol. but i know that spider plants should have several hang downs. can you please tell me how to grow more on my plant????

Give it good bright indirect light, some morning sun is ok (No direct hot afternoon sun) Let the roots fill the pot, Water well when dry and feed half strength fertilizer once a month or so (don't overfeed) and only in the growing months, none in winter.
The long stems with babies attached are called "runners". The babies on the runners are called "plantlets".
