I have a bird of paridise in the house in Florida. It did well all summer but now that it's cooler in the house it seems to be turning yellow but it still seems dry .I water about every 2 days I also cut off the leaves when they turn yellow. I'm afraid I'm losing it

It sounds like you may be incorrectly watering your Bird of Paradise. You shouldn't have to water that much a week. I water mine once a week, to every ten days.
Make sure the pot it's growing in is only about an inch bigger around than the plants root-ball. Water it thoroughly wetting the entire top of the soil and the entire root-ball. Let the water drain out the bottom, then empty the excess water that's in the saucer out. Let the soil dry out between waterings and give it lots of light.
