I have a christmas catas and when I bought it..it was blooming, but all of a sudden it stopped. how ofter do I water it and does it need a lot of light?

A Christmas cactus only blooms about once a year. It is a succulent, so high light is preferable, and my succulents like the soil to dry out, then water thoroughly but not soaking wet.
