Does anyone know if I can cut the bambo stocks in half and seal off the top and start new ones. the four I have are very tall and I want to know if I seal off the bottom pieces that have the roots on, if they will sprout from under the sealent? also will the top portions grow new roots?

I have two lucky bamboo sticks immersed in water in my house. But recently the leaves have started to dry after turning yellow. I just love them and i want to do something about this can u pls help......What can i do to save my bamboo sticks?
