I have a yucca palm tree in my apartment. I also have an alarming number of what look like fruit flies in my apartment. I have managed to find and discard everything thing in my apartment that I can think of that might be the source of breeding for this bug. Today, I looked closely at the soil in my yucca palm planter, and there seems to be a colony of these bugs breeding, living, thriving in the soil. What should I do? Do I have to throw out my plant? Or is there a pesticide out there that I could spray the plant with and not kill everyone in our apartment?
thanks,
Matt
