Have you ever heard of a carnivorous plant? If so... would it grow outdoors in Nebraska? Would it survive our winters, or would I need to bring it inside for the winter?

Thanks for your quick reply... Are there really plants that eat animals? (What an interesting turn of events in nature !!)
I am imagining a plant leaf curling up and suffocating a very small insect... but why?

It is my understanding that most plant carnivours require warmth and humidity.
I don't think these guys could handle the Omaha winters.

My mom had one when I was young. It has a "mouth" that when a small bug lands inside it, it snaps shut. Hers was about 5 inches tall. That's all I remember. Sorry.
