We got a palm tree (date palm?) that is becoming yellowish probably due to lack of fertilization. We contracted it out to the gardeners to fertize it but it turns out that they didn't do it at all for about a year. So we fertized it with a 8-4-8 palm tree fertilizer that we bought from HomeDepot about a month ago.

However we are concern about other issues about the tree, specifically, the dead leaf tip in the center (the new leaf). We have taken a few pictures of the tree and if you can take a look it and let us know if they are normal it would be much appreciated.

Picture 1: The lower leaves are yellow

Picture 2: The center leaves has a dead gray tip

Also while the lower leaves are yellow, the upper leaves also seems to have some sort of light yellow/brown dots on the leave edges.

Anybody can take a look and let us whether these are serious issues?

Thanks

Palm trees grow in places that are warm and have a lot of sunshine. They are medium-sized trees that grow in coastal regions. Fusarium wiltis another palm tree fungus. Signs of wilt are fronds wilting, losing their green luster and, finally, dying. Once a tree is infected, there is no cure and the diseased tree may have to be removed.
