Hi all,
I just picked this up a few weeks ago, and since my experiment has worked (my location is bad and am trying a makeshift grow light) I wanted to get to know this little guy here. Any specific tips for Rex would be appreciated.
Thanks
Mark

The plant is a Rex Cultorum Begonias

Rex Cultorum Begonias require a lot more humidity than other begonias. In order to add humidity to the
plants, place the pots on trays of gravel. Then simply place water in the gravel and the water will evaporate
and give it humidity. If that doesn't work, you can also place the Rex Cultorum Begonias next to a humidifier or
it can also be placed in a terrariums if there is no other way to provide the necessary humidity. Lack of humidity causes the leaf edges to become crisp and dry and the plant simply does
not flourish as it should.

They should not have any direct sunlight and medium light. Try to feed the plants only in the spring and summer
months when the days are long. When you fertilize with a 14-14-14 or 20-20-20. Taper off the feeding in late
summer when growth slows down.

Rex Cultorum Begonias can very easily get Mildew due to poor air circulation. With Mildew, prevention is very
important. Some of us have found Funginex to be a good preventive spray. Once you have mildew on a plant it
takes constant vigilance to keep in under control. It can spread very quickly when conditions are right.
