Hello, I would like to know the name of this tropical plant: -the leaves are alternate; -the dimensions of the leaf are 3 inches long et 1 inch large; -green/purple color; -the bottom part of the leaves is circling the branch; -tiny white hair on the surface of the leaves; -small pink flowers in the summer time.
It is my first time on this forum and I do not know how to attach a picture. But if someone responds, I will be able to send a picture Thank you.

The best way is to post a picture. To post a picture, you have to use a free file sharing server, like flickr.com, then post the link to the image here.

You may have what is known as a purple heart. The latin name is Setcreasea pallida and the common name is Purple Heart. It is used in hanging baskets, and can be used as a groundcover in warmer climates. In zone 7, purple hearts lasts until the first big frost hits. It then turns brown, and has faithfully come back for the past 4 years. We have had more moderate winters than normal, so I don't know how much cold it can tolerate and still return once warm weather hits. Hope this helps.
