Hi all, This is a great web site, with some really interesting posts and responses.. I am a novice gardener and was looking for suggestions.. hopefully this is the place. Please HELP!! I am working on an art project that requires setting up a small garden/ plant bed indoors. - the indoor space is like a shop front, with large windows and plenty of natural light - the space is in the South (Georgia) - the little garden bed is about 2'x 5' and... this is the odd part -it has to be under a table. The table is white, tall and skinny, so it does not block too much light and can be moved periodically. - I am looking at plants or flowers ( green or yellow) that I can grow here (potted, as seeds will take too long)from early Nov to early feb. - Initially I wanted Mums, but I doubt they will last. - I am now looking at creeping figs and they seem fine, but could run expensive, esp. if I was to fill the 2'x5'( I'd like for it to look carpeted) -My other thoughts were Spider grass or some stepables. -Basically I want something green or yellowish and not too fancy or exotic looking. and something that would be economic to buy (potted?) that I could then transplant into this 2'x5' bed of soil. The bed of soil will have a plastic sheet under it and a frame around it, making it look like a large trough. So.. all you green thumb pro's out there... pl give me some suggestions!! Thanks!!

Hi Brenda, what an interesting project! I thought you could consider hostas (such as hosta Fire and Ice). Or, variegated impatiens. Good luck.
