HI there
Let me introduce myself...I have chosen the user name Plumeria , as they are my favorite plants and flowers. I currently have two growing, on my porch. Our rainfall last weekend was good for them, however, then we had three days of dry hot 80-90s weather. The leaves on the one plant are drooping and as are the stem-tips. Do you think it is due to the extreme weather changes in San Diego Ca this past week> Or ? my husband said the neighborhood felines/cats are using the pot as a potty. i don't see any such evidence. The soil is dry , I brought the plant inside last night to watch it as I began my vacation today. :O)
I am going to transplamt it to a little larger pot. even though I do not want it any larger.
It is about four feet tall with three stems and blooming.
My other is a red about 6 ft tall and not in such direct afternoon sun. It looks fine and healthy.
Could be the rainwater was too acidic...this plant got lots of it, and the other is more under the eaves. Should i try treating it with good water to flush the acid out or leave it be and just feed the plant?
These two are my only survivors out of seven tall Plumerias from a winter of frost three yrs ago here.
Comments anyone?
thanks !

What I would recommend is to flush the soil out really good with clean water. That will help to remove excess salts from the soils that may be in the rain water. If cats are peeing on them, then cat and dog urine are very acidic also, and can be neutrilized by using lime on the soil. The heat can also cause the plant to wilt, especially if the soil is dry.

If you have any other questions I will try to answer them for you.
