Hello,
I need help identifying this plant that I purchased from seed. I wanted to order Nepeta Cataria (catnip) but the package is simply labeled catnip, and I'm not sure if it is Cataria or not. The plant does not look like catnip but I have never grown catnip so I can only go by the pictures I have seen on the internet.
Anyway, I am including a picture here, I would love if anyone could help me identify this thing. It smells kind of like mint, with some other smell in there I can't quite pinpoint. Maybe lemon. Definitely pungent.

The leaves are pointy and small. Green top and red/purple underside.

Hope you can make it out from this picture.
Thanks!
Paul

From the picture it appears it may be, but still hard to tell until the plant gets bigger. I would recommend to keep letting it grow and repost a couple of pictures of the leaves in a month or so once it gets bigger and I can better teel you if it is Nepeta Cataria or not.

looks like it from what i can see i grew it last year in horticulture from seed. a good way is it smells kind of bad and also has a square stem

I'm a highschool student, FFA member and officer, i have horticulture twice a day, and manage my school green house and i love it. I'm most likely going to college also for hort.
