I've all the sudden gotten what looks like fruit flys please help to tell me how to get rid of them the non pesticide way? Or if i have to get something what can i buy to rid my plants of them?????????There much!!

Have you tried the sticky fly strips you buy from the store? They are very unattractive, but they will really help control the flies until you find the source of the problem. Fungus gnats have been a real problem this year(I've even noticed them at the local plant stores) and this has worked really well for me.

The soil born pests that most of us have to deal with need a multiple stage and constant regiment of control. the sticky traps are used for adults as for the eggs and larvae they can be treated by reducing the water content in the soil. First let the soil dry almost completely between watering's. This removes the desired incubation conditions they like. second try to use tobacco juice in a ratio of one table spoon per quart of water when you water. Doing this will affect the reproductive and metabolism rates of the pests. A word of warning about the use of tobacco it leaves a less than desirable odder in the soil but it does work to kill any unwanted bugs.
