Hi! My friends and I are young NYC apartment botanists in training and we came into a whole collection of young plants from a friends wedding. We have been tending to them for almost a year (with good and bad results), but we have yet to uncover what kinds they are and how to best care for them. I've included links to several pictures that include all of our unknown plants. Most specifically, I am looking to ID the large upsidedown lightbulb tree (is it a Desert Rose?) that I have had for four years now! Thanks for all info and help! Hi Mitch, You a nice collection of plants! Your Plant1 is a maranta; check it out in the Plant Encyclopedia of this website. The other one is indeed a desert rose; but it could do with a little more sunlight, I guess. Has it ever flowered? In the Rest of Them, second from the left is a jade plant; next to it is a Dracaena reflexa variegata, also known as Song of India and the plant bang in the middle is a Schefflera or the umbrella tree. I couldn't see the plants on either end very clearly, so can't help you with their ID. Have fun with your plants!
