I have a Song of India plant... this is not mine, but here is what this type of plant looks like:

Song Of India

I've had the plant for about a year and it's been fine. All of a sudden, all the leaves on the bottom fell off. It now looks like a palm tree, lots of leaves on the top but none on the trunk, like it should. New, healthy leaves are growing like crazy on the top though. I'm just wondering why this is happening. Thank-you!

Don't worry, that happens with ALL the dracaenas. What you can do is chop off the leafy portion and plant it separately; it roots quite easily. From the cane-like stem, you can cut off more pieces (say, 8-10 inches in length and plant them as well!)to have the main stem of a length you find attractive. Continue watering it; it will show new growth on the node just below where you cut it off.
