This is an update to my original post below. I think my plant may be a baby rubber plant" (Peperomia obtusifolia). Please correct me if I'm wrong. Now I need to know: It desperately needs repotting, but everything I've read says to repot only in the Spring. It's still blooming right now. Should I wait? Can I divide it? [Hi and thanks for reading this. I need some help. I love this houseplant and it's time for her to have a name-- I have no idea what she is. She's about 5 years old, is blooming for the second year in a row. Wildly healthy and resilient, and is always cheerful and smiling. Has rather thick stems and rounded, thick-ish leaves. Tolerates just about anything. I'm not just curious, it's time to re-pot again and I need to know if I can divide (ouch!) her or not.] Thanks for any help you can give. Please find her photo on the flickr link below: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2467/3822706439_15fc8e6fec.jpg

It certainly looks like a peperomia to me. Gorgeous specimen, very well looked after. As for dividing, I wouldn't, but that's purely a personal thing. It can be divided if you want, but I think it looks fine as it is. As for repotting, it doesn't look (from the photo) like it needs repotting - it's certainly not suffering, anyway, so leaving it for a while longer wouldn't do it any harm, I think.
Hope that helps!

Thanks very much for your reply. Some plants seem to be naturally good-natured, just like people, and this one is. I think I will refrain from repotting right now, and I really don't want to divide if I don't have to, as it doesn't usually turn out well for me or the plants.Gracias.
